I love my garden; I love my blue sky for a roof.
I love the decor of my garden room; the colors blend in a lovely way, deep red tomatoes, bright yellow sunflowers, and pale green cucumbers.
The trellis is so magical, weaving vines, like a tapestry upon a wall; I am at home here.
The sun is my only lamp; I need no chandelier of sparkling crystals.
The wind is my companion; there is no droning sound of the air conditioning fan.
So many friends gather here; the butterflies, the birds, and the bees, to name just a few, stop in to pass the time.
I love my garden; I love my blue sky for a roof.
Here, with all that endless blue, the air so fresh and clean, the laundry list of things to do simply disappears; and unless the roof springs a leak, I can stay outdoors all day!
But, even if those soft summer raindrops fall, silken kisses upon my cheeks, I do not mind; the only laundry I need press are the memories of these hours upon my heart.
Like fresh sheets folded in my linen drawers, the scent of my garden room beckons; the blush of summer will soon be past, the vines of my trellis wall fading into autumn.
“The Lord will always lead you, satisfy you in a parched land, and strengthen your bones. You will be like a watered garden and like a spring whose waters never run dry.”: Isaiah 58:11
Lovely, Linda. Very picturesque.
Thank you! The garden is my happy place! Hard times in America and around the world…still, the gardens grow, and we are blessed by their produce.
I feel like I am there with you.
Before long, my whole yard will be full of leaves…and the gardens! I am enjoying this time! Our rakes will soon be put to good use.:)

Beautiful pictures and inspiring words!
Thank you! There is so much beauty to be found in a garden! Now, more than ever, we need to find moments to celebrate the wonder that is all around us each and every day.
I love this! It captures that feeling of home as sanctuary.
You do have the best comments! That is exactly what I was trying to communicate! π
Oh, I’m so glad!

It was a pleasure to walk in your garden π
I am so glad you came to visit! π
I think it’s so important to have a “happy place,” especially in challenging times. I’m glad you’re garden is yours, and that it’s a part of your home. Having a happy home has never been more important!
The times are challenging! Keeping a positive focus is the key. I think that whatever inspires people to keep that positive frame of mind is a good thing. My daughter in law, Elicia, started painting in the midst of this pandemic; she is a gifted artist, and has used this time to create beautiful art work. I look at her paintings and it brings me joy; she has found her ‘key’.
Good for your daughter! And years from now, she can look at those paintings and remember this time through them, rather than through the frustrations and sorrow of the pandemic. Personally, my home is my happy place but what has helped me cope with the pandemic is spending so much extra time babysitting my grandchildren. That’s a gift!
You and your grandchildren are both blessed that you live in the same town. My daughter is a few hours away and I have gone to babysit a few times for a long weekend or so. Now that the pandemic is here, we have not done that! Another one of my sons is also further away. My middle son brings his little Henry often to visit because they live only an hour from my house. It is a joy to spend time with the grandchildren!:) I look forward to a time when all of my family can be together again.
Such a beautiful post Linda. I could picture everything you said.
Thank you! We are living through strange times, but the garden remains constant…You have the most beautiful gardens in the UK. I took endless pictures, but I could never capture the beauty I saw with my own eyes.
I’m about 3 days late reading this post – and so glad for it! Today marks the start of tougher work weeks ahead and God is reminding me of where He will wait for me.
Praying for you in these days…God is always there waiting for you, no matter where your footsteps take you. But, sometimes in the quiet at the end of the day, we feel His presence all the more.
How true your words are, Linda. Nearing the end of a long and tough day yesterday, I pulled up outside one of our buildings. There, before me, was a huge rainbow, stretching from the heavens to the ground of my sacrifice. It was the Holy Spirit reminding me of hope, saying Remember God’s promise to you.
A rainbow is a beautiful thing; it does remind us that God keeps His promises to us. π May that rainbow of hope live within your heart when the storms of life blow with endless bitterness; may you remember the sweetness of God’s love, the balm for our souls.

Your garden sounds very peaceful, and the sunflowers are beautiful! Sunflowers always seem happy–with smiling faces.
Sunflowers are amazing! I like to think of all those little seeds as tiny seeds of hope. With patience, tiny things sprout into something more beautiful than anything we could ever imagine. I like your image of those smiling faces…such a happy thought. π
you have painted a peaceful poetic sanctuary … ideal to have a sacred space π
We do need our quiet spaces! π π π
always but especially now with our current situation to preserve our sanity π
